Bishops Peak in San Luis Obispo is a Must See Attraction

Bishop Peak Climbing can be done from three locations. The starting point is a favorite of tourists at nearby Anacapa Dr. Patricia Cir. Large parking Hint: Anacapa Cir drive all the way back and there are several parking lots are almost always empty (my favorite place), then walked into Dr. Patricia to the trailhead. Take Hard Drive Highland and Patricia followed her into the park from the curb in the culdesac. You already will be a third of the way so the scenery is great to be available to the east and south as soon as you begin your climb. You do not need to go upstairs to get a good overlook of CalPoly, Laguna Lake, and Los Osos Valley. Trees will provide shade during the early rise, but you will be in the open lane as the road winds around the south side of the peak.

After that shade will just anything you can find under the stone rocks. About an hour and a half to two hours to reach the top, so the time for frequent rest stops. Once you get to the west side of the hill, a series of switchbacks takes you to the top. Some bench memorial marks the end of the trail, but the more ambitious among us will be scrambling to the top of the stones for a more comprehensive view, including Morro Bay. It took about 45 minutes to get back to the car. This seems to be a popular climbing spot and you will meet many friendly people along the road. It took about 45 minutes to reach the top walk at a brisk pace, and look well worth the effort. Do not forget to choose a comfortable resting place on Hotels in San Luis Obispo. In order for the climb went well, you should bring shoes that grip tracks much better than running shoes, half a liter of water (more if it’s hot), a hat for shade, and a towel to wipe sweat. A camera for a few good shots because you’ll see all the way to the Oceano Dunes. Have fun!
